KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Four student-athletes from the University of Michigan men's soccer team -- Matthew Fisher, Nolan Miller, Mitar Mitrovic and Shuma Sasaki -- were selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region team, the organization announced on Tuesday (Dec. 9).
Fisher earned first-team accolades while Miller and Sasaki were named to the second team. Mitrovic rounded out the Michigan selections with a place on the third team.
Fisher started 19 matches for U-M and was a key piece in Michigan's defense that allowed just 19 goals in the regular season. The junior was effective on the attacking end of the pitch, dishing out four assists, which were second on the team in the regular season.
Miller started at center back in all 20 matches for the Maize and Blue and was the leader of the Michigan defense. On the offensive side of the ball, Miller scored twice and added two assists for a total of six points.
Sasaki made a strong impression in his first season in Ann Arbor, scoring three goals -- including the game-winner against Bowling Green on Sept. 2 -- and chipped in two assists. Beyond the box score, Sasaki was a catalyst for the Michigan attack, drawing multiple fouls in the box to earn penalty kicks for U-M.
Mitrovic was a critical piece of the Michigan midfield, starting 18 matches in the middle of the pitch. Mitrovic ended the season in grand fashion with four goals and an assist in the final seven matches of 2025. The graduate student was clinical from the penalty spot, scoring all four of his attempts from the dot.
