ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (3-3-2) remains home to close out its non-conference slate against Portland (3-3-2) on Sunday (Oct. 4) at 2 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan improved its non-conference record to 3-1-1 with a 2-1 victory over Oakland on Tuesday (Sept. 29).
• Graduate student Michael Haikal scored his first goal as a Wolverine to give Michigan the lead against Oakland.
• Grayson Elmquist converted his fourth goal of the 2026 season and second from the penalty spot to open the scoring against Oakland.
• The Wolverines recorded 14 shots, including four on goal, while limiting Oakland to just one shot on goal.
• Elmquist leads Michigan with nine points and is one of seven Wolverines to score at least one goal this season.
• U-M ranks fifth in the Big Ten in goals allowed and has surrendered one goal or fewer in four of its five home matches.
• Michigan and Portland will meet for the first time in program history. Portland will be U-M's first new opponent since UCLA in 2024.
• The Wolverines will conclude their three-game homestand with a Big Ten matchup against Penn State on Friday (Oct. 9) at 7 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
