MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Senior Juliette Manzur of the No. 13-ranked University of Michigan field hockey team (5-2, 1-0 Big Ten) recorded a hat trick in the Wolverines' 5-0 win at Central Michigan (2-7, 0-1 MAC) on Sunday (Sept. 20) at Cristy Freese Field.

Michigan controlled possession to open the game and earned five penalty corners in the first quarter, but Central Michigan goalkeeper Jenna Billig posted four saves to keep U-M off the board.

Manzur scored the first of her three goals off a penalty corner in the 21st minute, with an assist from Eva Bernardy, to put U-M on the board. Cami Wiseman added a goal of her own with just 11 seconds remaining in the first half, scoring on the rebound of a Manzur shot.

Manzur converted another penalty corner in the 32nd minute for her second goal of the day before completing the hat trick on a rebound in the 41st minute. Tilly Gibson assisted on both goals as the Wolverines took a 4-0 lead into the final quarter. Sofia Abraham capped the scoring in the final 30 seconds, recording her first career goal on the rebound of a Manzur shot.

U-M outshot the Chippewas 18-6 and held a 13-2 advantage in penalty corners. Both Central Michigan corner attempts and five of its six shots came in the final quarter.

Seven Wolverines recorded shots, led by Manzur with eight and Maxine Rogge and Bernardy with three apiece. Hala Silverstein and Maddie Grand split time in the cage for the second time this season.

The Wolverines will close out their three-game road stretch on Saturday (Sept. 26) at Indiana. The game will stream live on B1G+ at noon.
