
Wolverines to Welcome Rutgers Thursday for BTN Game

» Michigan will play just one game this week, hosting Rutgers in Big Ten Conference play on Thursday (April 13) at 7 p.m. live on BTN.
» This marks U-M's second-to-last regular-season game, as the Wolverines will wrap up Big Ten play on April 30 against Penn State.
» Thursday's contest is a H.A.I.L. Bonus Game, and Michigan students can earn bonus H.A.I.L. points by attending and checking in at this game. The first 250 fans will also receive a Michigan Fan Flag.

TEAM FOUR: GAME SIXTEEN
The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (5-10, 1-3 Big Ten) will welcome Rutgers (7-6, 1-2 Big Ten) to Ann Arbor on Thursday (April 13) for a 7 p.m. matchup under the lights at Michigan Stadium. The game will be televised live on BTN and will also be streamed online via BTN2Go (cable login required).
WOLVERINE BITES
• At Michigan's annual Student-Athlete Recognition Celebration on Monday, April 10, 24 members of the team were recognized for their academic achievements in the classroom, earning U-M Athletic Academic Achievement honors.
• As a team, Michigan has won the draw control in 10 of 15 games this season and had the same number of draw controls in one game. The Wolverines rank third in the Big Ten, averaging 14.1 draw controls per game, which is up from their 2016 average of 10.5 per game. U-M has a total of 211 draw controls this season, which is a program record for draw controls in a single season.
• Anna Schueler has already set a personal record for draw controls in a season with 76. She set a program record for draw controls in a single game with 10 against Maryland (April 1) and followed that up with nine against Niagara (April 4). Schueler has 225 career draw controls, which is more than double any other player in program history. Schueler ranks third in the Big Ten and 22nd in the NCAA, averaging 5.07 draw controls per game this season. Kim Coughlan, who takes the majority of Michigan's draws, has 33 this season and 105 in her career.
• Michigan is tied for second in the Big Ten in caused turnovers per game, averaging 9.4 per outing, just behind Johns Hopkins' 9.6. Emily Braun has a team-high 22 caused turnovers and is third in the Big Ten with 1.47 per game. With two games remaining, Braun has already set a personal record for caused turnovers in a single season (previous was 16 in 2016). Madeline Dion holds the program record for caused turnovers in a season with 27 during the 2015 season.
• Michigan has four players with 20-plus points this season, led by Jess Angerman's 38 points, which includes 25 goals and 13 assists. Coughlan leads U-M with 26 goals, while Schueler has 21 goals and a team-best 14 assists, and Tess Korten has 16 goals and 10 assists.
• Coughlan (114G+16A=130P), Angerman (109G+51A=160P), Schueler (107G+45A=152P) and Korten (94G+29A=123P) have each surpassed 100 career points, while Coughlan, Angerman and Schueler have also reached 100 career goals. They are the first players in program history to reach those milestones. In their four years at Michigan, that group of four has combined to score 66 percent of U-M's goals (424-of-647) and tally 67 percent of its overall points (565-of-846).
• Schueler is the only U-M player to record at least one point in all 15 games, tallying 21 goals and 14 assists to date. In addition, Schueler is the only Wolverine to start all 67 games in Michigan's four years as a varsity program. Kelly Kubach is right behind her with 66 career starts, while Angerman has 65.
• After seeing time in two games last season, Madison Richardson has worked her way into a starting role on U-M's defense, starting 12 games this season. She is currently second on the team in ground balls with 23 and is one of five Wolverines with double-digit caused turnovers with 16.
• Freshman midfielder Chandler Kirby has worked her way into a more consistent time on the field as of late. She has played in all 15 games and earned her first career start in U-M's last game at Johns Hopkins. The Darien, Connecticut, native has four goals and four assists on the season, with three goals and three assists coming in the last four games.
• Goalies Alli Kothari (1-7) and Mira Shane (4-3) have both seen significant time in cage this season. Shane earned the decisions in Michigan's last seven games and was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Week on March 21. Overall, Shane has played 414 minutes, earning a goals-against average of 12.89 and a save percentage of .407. Kothari has played 490 minutes and owns a goals-against average of 12.10 and a save percentage of .428. Most recently, Kothari came off the bench at Johns Hopkins and made eight saves in 40 minutes of action while allowing seven goals.
• Five Michigan student-athletes played high school lacrosse with members of Rutgers' roster. Between the two teams, five players attended Moorestown High School (Moorestown, N.J.) -- for U-M, junior Sydney Dalmass, and sophomores Maggie Handlan and Adriana Pendino, and for Rutgers sophomore Abbey Brooks and freshman Jenna Martinelli. Coughlan and Rutgers junior Kerri Puckhaber played together at Saint Anthony's (Huntington Station, N.Y.), and U-M senior Natalie Carti and RU redshirt junior Nicole Kopyta both attended Indian Hills (Oakland, N.J.).
• Following the Rutgers matchup, Michigan will have a 16-day break before it hosts Penn State in its regular-season finale on Sunday, April 30. The program will honors its first senior class and will recognize its 14 seniors who will graduate on Saturday, April 29.
Scouting Rutgers
Under the direction of 15th-year head coach Laura Brand-Sias, Rutgers is currently 7-6 overall, including a 1-2 mark in Big Ten play. The Scarlet Knights are scoring an average of 11.15 goals per game while giving up 11.3 per outing. Senior midfielder Kristina Dunphey leads RU with 24 goals, while senior attacker Amanda Turturro has a team-best 34 points on 17 goals and 17 assists. RU goalies, Devon Kearns and Bianca Dente have split time in the cage, with Dente recording all of its decisions. Dente owns a goals-against average of 11.47 and a save percentage of .455.
Series vs. Rutgers
Rutgers holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series with Michigan, with the Scarlet Knights winning both meetings since the Big Ten started sponsoring women's lacrosse in 2015.
