» Michigan will host Detroit in non-conference play on Wednesday, March 15, at 5 p.m. before starting its Big Ten season at Ohio State on Saturday, March 18, at noon.
» With her three goals in U-M's last game, Kim Coughlan became the first Wolverine to reach 100 career goals. Classmates Jess Angerman and Anna Schuler are right behind her with 98 and 97 career goals, respectively.
» Michigan has won or tied in the draw control battle in all but one game this season. Coughlan is U-M's go-to on the draw, while Schueler has won more than a third of the team's draw controls with 40 this season.

TEAM FOUR: GAMES NINE AND TEN
The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (1-7, 0-0 Big Ten) will kick off this week's competition by hosting in-state foe Detroit (2-4) on Wednesday (March 15). The game has been moved indoors to Oosterbaan Field House due to cold weather, and the start time has been pushed back an hour to 6 p.m. The Wolverines will then travel to Columbus, Ohio, to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes (5-4, 0-0 Big Ten) in their Big Ten Conference opener on Saturday (March 18) at noon at Ohio Stadium. The Detroit game will not be streamed live on MGoBlue.com due to the venue change.
WOLVERINE BITES
• With her three goals against Canisius (March 12), Kim Coughlan became the first player in program history to reach 100 career goals. She now has a program-best 101 goals and is followed closely by classmates Jess Angerman and Anna Schueler with 98 and 97, respectively. Angerman holds the program record for career points with 141, while Schueler has 139, Coughlan has 114, and Tess Korten has 113. In their four years at Michigan, that group of four has combined to score 68 percent of U-M's goals and tally 70 percent of its overall points.
• After scoring one goal in the first three games, Angerman has combined to tally 13 goals in the last four games, tying her career high of four goals on two different occasions. She has also added two assists in each of the last two games. Coughlan has also increased her offensive production over the last four games, scoring 10 of her 13 goals during that stretch.
• Schueler is the only U-M player to tally at least one point in all eight games this season. She has had two or more goals in four games and had multiple assists in three games. Schueler is eighth in the Big Ten in assists per game, averaging 1.38 per outing. Her 11 assists this season are just two shy of her 2016 total of 13 assists, which are the most she has recorded in a single season in Maize and Blue.
• The draw control continues to be a strong spot for Michigan this season, as the Wolverines have won the battle in six of eight games and were also even in one game. Overall, the Wolverines have 109 draw controls on the season, for an average of 13.6 per game, while their opponents have 81 (10.1/game). Coughlan has taken the majority of U-M's draws, while several other Wolverines are options on the draw, including Schueler, Mae Tarr and Molly Garrett.
• Schueler has a team-high 40 draw controls this season and holds the program record for career draw controls with 189, which is more than double any other player in program history. She is third in the Big Ten, averaging 4.2 per game this season. Schueler's personal record for draw controls in a single season was 54 during her freshman season in 2014.
• Emily Braun has a team-high 13 caused turnovers and is second in the conference with 1.63 per game. With nine games remaining, Braun is already approaching her 2016 total of 15 caused turnovers.
• Michigan leads the Big Ten in caused turnovers per game, averaging 10.9 per outing.
• Goalies Alli Kothari and Mira Shane have both seen time in cage this season, with Kothari earning all of U-M's decisions. Kothari has played 376 minutes and recorded a goals-against average of 12.13 and save percentage of .424. Shane has played 104 minutes, earning a goals-against average of 15.00 and a save percentage of .381. Kothari's 15 saves against No. 17 Stanford are the second most by a Big Ten goalie this season.
Scouting Detroit:
Detroit, a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, is currently 2-4 under first-year head coach Laurie Merian. The program is coming off a 15-14 win over Cincinnati. The Titans have five players with double-digit goals, led by sophomore Morgan Girardi with 15, while sophomore Lexie Kinmond has a team-best 22 points on 11 goals and 11 assists. Sophomore goalie Allison McDonough has played every minute in cage for the Titans, recording a save percentage of .441 and goals-against average of 14.17.
Series vs. Detroit:
Michigan leads the all-time series over Detroit, 1-0. The Wolverines defeated the Titans during U-M's inaugural season in 2014, 16-6, on Detroit's home field.
Scouting Ohio State:
Directed by seventh-year head coach Alexis Venechanos, Ohio State will enter Saturday's contest with a 5-4 overall record, including three straight losses. The Buckeyes have scored 113 goals this season, for an average of 12.56 per game. Freshman Liza Hernandez is one of two players with more than 30 points this season, recording 21 goals and 13 assists. Hernandez has won Big Ten Freshman of the Week in four of the five weeks the award has been given this season. Junior Molly Wood has a team-best 25 goals to go along with six assists and also leads OSU with 35 draw controls. Freshman goalie Jill Rizzo has all of Ohio State's decisions and has recorded a goals-against average of 11.40 and save percentage of .471.
Series vs. Ohio State:
Ohio State leads the all-time series with Michigan, 4-0. The Wolverines were edged is last year's meeting with the Buckeyes, 10-9, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Coughlan matched her career high with five goals in that game.
