ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Despite a strong outing from Kurt Barr, the University of Michigan baseball team fell 5-2 to No. 15-ranked Oregon on Friday (April 3) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.

Michigan (15-13, 4-6 Big Ten) was led by Barr, who pitched six innings and allowed just one run while striking out nine and walking two. Barr's ninth strikeout was the 200th of his career, as he became the 15th player in program history to reach that milestone.

The Wolverines took a 1-0 lead in the second with back-to-back doubles from Evan Haeger and Cade Ladehoff. U-M had a baserunner in each of the next four innings, but could not add to its lead.

Oregon (24-7, 8-3 Big Ten) was held scoreless through four innings before a solo home run opened the fifth and tied the score at 1-1. The Ducks took the lead in the seventh inning, scoring a run to make the score 2-1, then added three runs in the eighth to take a 5-1 lead.

U-M cut the lead to 5-2 in the eighth after a Colby Turner leadoff single and a two-out Haeger single, but the Wolverines were unable to add any runs in the ninth, and Oregon evened the series.

The Wolverines will close out their series against the Ducks on Saturday (April 4) at Ray Fisher Stadium. Due to inclement weather forecast for Ann Arbor, first pitch is now scheduled for 11 a.m. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.
