O'Hearn Signs Free-Agent Agreement with New York Mets

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Keegan O'Hearn of the University of Michigan baseball team was recently signed by the New York Mets as an undrafted free agent.
The redshirt sophomore spent three seasons at Michigan, seeing action in 11 games as a pitcher and pinch-running in five other contests in 2026. O'Hearn limited opponents to a .231 batting average over the course of the season and struck out six over his 7.1 innings pitched. He had seven scoreless outings this season, with his longest being one inning, doing so three times against UCLA, Oregon and Ohio State. In addition to taking the mound, O'Hearn pinch ran five times, scoring four times, including twice against Washington. He threw 125 pitches above 95 mph this season, topping out at 98.7 mph on April 12.
O'Hearn pitched three times in 2025 and stepped to the plate in 17 games. As a hitter, O'Hearn scored nine runs and had nine hits, including five extra-base hits and eight RBI. He slashed .281/.439/.563 in 2025 and finished his Michigan career with 13 runs.
