ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team will return home for a two-game stretch this week, beginning with a non-conference matchup against No. 20 Denver on Thursday (March 26) at 5 p.m. Michigan will then host Big Ten foe Oregon on Sunday (March 29) at 1 p.m. for Senior Day at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. Both contests will be streamed on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan enters week eight ranked No. 5 nationally, climbing one spot after earning its fourth straight victory. Two of those wins have come against ranked opponents, giving the Wolverines four ranked wins this season, including triumphs over then-No. 5 Florida and then-No. 6 Boston College.
• Graduate student Ava Class paced Michigan in its latest ranked win, an 11-6 decision over No. 21 Penn State, tallying five points on four goals and an assist. The midfielder converted both of her free-position attempts in the first half and now has six free-position goals this season. She ranks 12th in the Big Ten with nine conference points.
• Senior Grace Callahan is closing in on Michigan's all-time ground balls record, needing just 11 to match Maddie Burns' mark of 111 set in 2024. Callahan has 14 ground balls this season and 30 over the past two years. She also has 68 career caused turnovers, sitting 12 shy of tying Madeline Dion's program record of 80 set in 2017.
• Emma Burke broke her own standing Michigan single-game draw control record in a dominant performance against Central Michigan, winning 22 draws. She outdrew the Chippewas, 22-11, on her own and secured all but two draws for the Wolverines. The total ranks third in NCAA single-game history, tying Haley Wagner of Marist (April 27, 2019).
• Michigan matched its program record for goals in a game with 23 against Central Michigan, equaling its output against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 14, 2022.
• Class and Callahan were both named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Callahan earns the honor for the second straight year, while Class appears for the first time. Callahan ranks tied for fourth all-time in program history with 68 caused turnovers and tied for second with 100 ground balls. Class has totaled 80 career points on 59 goals and 21 assists.
• Michigan will continue its homestand Thursday (April 2), hosting Ohio State at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
