ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan field hockey team (5-5, 1-3 Big Ten) is set to close out a four-game homestand this weekend, hosting No. 2 Maryland (11-0, 2-0 Big Ten) at 4 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 9) and No. 18 Monmouth (8-2, 3-0 CAA) at 11 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 11) at Phyllis Ocker Field. Both matches will stream live on B1G+.

• U-M is 5-5 on the season and 1-3 in Big Ten play after falling 2-1 in overtime to No. 6 Iowa and 6-1 to No. 1 Northwestern last weekend. Against the Hawkeyes, the Wolverines held a 14-8 shot advantage, with Natalie Millman leading the team with a career-high four shots. Millman found the back of the cage on a penalty corner assisted by Anjolie Norton to tie the game in the final seven minutes of the fourth quarter and send it to overtime. Kelsey Reviello scored Michigan's lone goal against the Wildcats, converting a penalty corner for her third goal of the season.
• U-M continues to outshoot its opponents, 133-89, with a .617 shots-on-goal percentage while holding opponents to a .461 mark. Eva Bernardy leads the Maize and Blue with 28 shots this season. Bernardy and Reviello share the team lead with three goals alongside Juliette Manzur and Esmée de Willigen.
• Michigan has scored eight goals on 66 penalty corners and is 2-for-2 on penalty strokes this season. The Wolverines have held their opponents to just 36 penalty corners, including zero attempts by North Carolina and Iowa, and rank 21st in the NCAA in penalty corners per game (6.60). Hala Silverstein tied her season high with six saves against the Wildcats and ranks No. 28 nationally in goals-against average (1.46).
• Maryland brings an 11-game winning streak into the weekend, including conference victories against Rutgers (3-0) and Penn State (4-1). The Terrapins are led offensively by midfielder Francisca Eschoyez, who has recorded a team-high eight goals this season. Maryland ranks seventh in the NCAA and second in the Big Ten in scoring margin (2.43), while its 0.70 goals-against average ranks fourth nationally. Alyssa Klebasko has played the majority of the team's minutes in the cage and ranks fifth nationally and third in the conference with a 0.81 goals-against average. Maryland remains one of three undefeated teams in the Big Ten and is ranked No. 2 nationally behind top-ranked Northwestern.
• Maryland leads the all-time series, 23-6. The teams last faced off in College Park in 2025, with the Terrapins earning a 1-0 victory. Michigan is 1-4 against Maryland in the last five matchups.
• Monmouth enters the weekend 8-2 overall and leads the CAA with a 3-0 conference record. Millia Frye has recorded a team-high 11 goals this season and ranks fourth nationally in goals per game (1.10) and sixth in points per game (2.50). In the cage, the Hawks are led by goalkeeper Charlie Bowman, who owns a conference-leading 1.12 goals-against average. Monmouth ranks sixth in the NCAA in goals per game (3.70), scoring average (3.63) and scoring margin (2.65).
• Michigan has faced Monmouth just once, earning a 2-1 win in 2018 at Ocker Field.
