Notes
• Michigan enters the week with 10 points in Big Ten Conference play, equal with Rutgers for the No. 8 spot in the standings. However, RU holds a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Wolverines due to the result of their Oct. 12 match. U-M's RPI of 37 places them in contention for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament field at the beginning of the week.
The top four teams will host Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals matches on Sunday (Oct. 29) at campus sites prior to the semifinals and finals of the tournament being contested at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on Nov. 2-5.
• The Wolverines have outscored opponents 19-14 on the season, highlighted by a 12-6 advantage in the goal column despite a 111-102 shot deficit. U-M also has generated the vast majority of chances via corners of late, winning the category in two of the last four matches. Previously, the Wolverines had not won a corner majority in any match.
• Senior Sammi Woods leads the team in goals with eight, ranking her sixth in the conference. She owns 24 goals in her U-M career, making her the team's career active leader.
• Freshman Gabrielle Prych is tied for second in the conference for goals by a freshman (five) and is tied for the team lead in assists with four.
• The Wolverines have registered double-digit shots in each of the last four matches, outpacing opponents 68-50 over the span. It marks the first stretch of the season U-M has outshot opponents in four straight matches.
• Two Wolverines hail from the state of Ohio in freshmen Zoey Milton (Newark) and Campbell Jewell (Eaton).
• U-M and the Hawkeyes have tied the previous three matchups. From 1997-2006, Michigan won all 11 games between the two. Iowa enters the week ranked No. 52 in the NCAA RPI, and is 3-3-2 in Big Ten play (11 points).
• The Wolverines and Buckeyes played to a scoreless draw in their most-recent matchup in Ann Arbor during the 2022 season. Michigan won eight straight matchups from 1997-2002, but have only won three games between the two in the past 10 years. OSU is ranked No. 29 in the NCAA RPI and is 4-3-1 in Big Ten play (13 points).
