ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team (23-12, 23-12 Big Ten) hosts a pivotal home series this weekend as the Wolverines host No. 21 and first-place Indiana (23-10, 23-10 Big Ten) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. The teams will play single games on Friday (May 14) at 4 p.m., Saturday (May 15) at 2 p.m. and Sunday (May 16) at 1 p.m. The first two contests will be streamed live on Big Ten Network+, while Sunday's finale will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Michigan leads 133-74 in the all-time series with Indiana, dating back to 1896. The teams have split the past 10 meetings since 2015 with Michigan winning the last meeting in 2019, a 6-5 walkoff win in 11 innings.

• Michigan (23-12, 23-12 B1G) took last weekend's series agains Michigan State with a pair of victories behind impressive starting pitching from Steven Hajjar and Cameron Weston. Hajjar struck out 13 batters and allowed just one hit in six innings of work in a 5-1 victory on Friday night (May 7). That effort was followed by Weston, who threw a complete game, one-hitter on Saturday (May 8), striking out nine batters and retiring 20 consecutive batters at one point of a 3-1 victory. Weston's effort propelled him to Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors.
• Michigan will look to Hajjar (3-0, 2.88 ERA, 56.1 IP, 80 K) on Friday, righty Weston (5-2, 2.93 ERA, 61.1 IP, 53 K) on Saturday and lefty Jacob Denner (3-3, 4.22 ERA, 42.2 IP, 44 K) on Sunday.
• Benjamin Sems leads the offense with a .344 batting average while ranking third on the team with 25 RBI and home runs in three of the past six games. Ted Burton (.329) is one of five Michigan players with a grand slam this season. Christian Molfetta (.307) and Jordon Rogers (.301) follow, while Clark Elliott (.297) continues to lead the regulars with a .426 on-base percentage this season.
Scouting Indiana
• Indiana (23-10, 23-10 B1G) has won five out of its last six games and nine of its last 11. The Hoosiers took a pair of close games at Rutgers last weekend before splitting two games with Nebraska, which also is in the hunt for conference title.
• The strength of the Hoosiers team is at pitcher, with Indiana holding opposing batters to a .194 batting average. Tommy Sommer (5-2, 3.26 ERA, 58.0 IP, 62 K), McCade Brown (4-2, 3.06 ERA, 47.0 IP, 26 H, 77 K) and Gabe Bierman (5-2, 2.26 ERA, 55.2 IP, 33 H, 62 K) all boast impressive numbers.
• Offensively, Grant Richardson (.323, 10-11 SB), Cole Barr (.322, 8 HR, 29 RBI, .445 OBP) and Paul Toetz (.310, 16 2B) lead the way.
