JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In a back-and-forth opening-day game, Chandler Kirby's goal with 11:40 remaining in the second half proved to be the game-winner as the No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team defeated Jacksonville, 10-8, on Sunday (Feb. 9) at D.B. Milne Field.
Junior Caitlin Muir had three points on the day with two goals and one assist, while Molly Garrett and Kirby scored a pair of goals each.
Two Wolverines made their first career appearances in Kaley Thompson, who scored her first career goal, and Mariana Lopez-Ona, who saw time on the field.
