WOLVERINE BITES
• Michigan went 1-1 on its spring trip to California last week, falling at No. 17 Stanford, 15-10, and earning its first win of the season at California, 14-4. At Stanford, the Wolverines were tied with under 22 minutes to go, but the Cardinal outscored U-M 7-2 down the stretch to earn the win. Against Cal, the Wolverines led wire-to-wire and recorded their first win behind hat tricks from Jess Angerman, Kim Coughlan and Anna Schueler.
• Michigan had several statistical highlights in its game at No. 17 Stanford. Wolverine goalie Alli Kothari set a program record with 15 saves, the highest by any Big Ten goalie in a single game this season. Angerman matched her career high with four goals, which is the most by any U-M player in a game this season. Schueler tied a program record with seven draw controls, matching Mae Tarr's effort at St. Mary's in 2015. As a team, Michigan held Cal to four goals, which is tied for third in program history, and second in the Big Ten for fewest goals allowed by an opponent this season.
• The draw control continues to be a strong spot for Michigan this season, as the Wolverines have won the battle in four of six games this season and were also even in one game. Overall, the Wolverines have 75 draw controls on the season, for an average of 12.5 per game, while their opponents have 57 (9.5/game). Coughlan has taken the majority of U-M's draws, while several other Wolverines are options on the draw, including Schueler, Tarr and Molly Garrett. Schueler has a team-high 27 draw controls, while Coughlan has 12.
• Schueler is leading Michigan with 27 draws this season, and is third in the Big Ten, averaging 4.2 per game. Emily Braun has a team-high 11 caused turnovers and is second in the conference with 1.8 per game. Braun is already approaching her 2016 total of 15 caused turnovers.
• Coughlan currently holds the all-time record for career goals at Michigan with 96, while Schueler is right behind her with 95, and Angerman has 92. They are nearing the 100-goal mark and would be the first players in program history to do so. Schueler holds the program record for career points with 134 and draw controls with 176, which is more than double any other player in program history.
