
Jefferis Named Gold Glove Award Winner at Third Base

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Brayden Jefferis of the University of Michigan baseball team won the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Sporting Goods Gold Glove Award at third base, it was announced Wednesday (June 17). With the honor, he becomes the first winner in program history.
Jefferis played in every contest for the Wolverines in 2026, starting 57 games at third base while also seeing action at second base, shortstop and left field. The sophomore had a .974 fielding percentage, ranking sixth on the team among players with more than 100 chances. He committed just four errors in his 152 chances while recording 37 putouts and 111 assists. Jefferis helped the Wolverines to a .977 infield fielding percentage, which ranked fifth in the Big Ten and 47th nationally.
Individually, Jefferis ranked eighth in fielding percentage among third basemen with at least 30 games played there and finished third among players with 50 starts or more. At third base, he had a .979 fielding percentage while totaling 474.2 innings playing in the 36th most innings across all of Division I.
In addition to being the first Gold Glove winner in program history, Jefferis is the seventh player from the Big Ten to earn the honor.
