
U-M to Hit Road for Ranked Clash with No. 21 Penn State

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (6-2, 1-0 Big Ten) will head to State College, Pa., on Sunday (March 22) for a top-25 matchup against No. 21 Penn State (9-1, 1-0 Big Ten). Opening draw is set for noon at Panzer Stadium, with the game streaming on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan enters week seven ranked No. 6 nationally, climbing one spot after opening Big Ten play with a win over USC. The Wolverines will face their sixth ranked opponent of the season in Penn State and hold a 3-2 record against ranked teams in 2026.
• Senior Calli Norris paced the Wolverines offensively against USC with six points on four goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in the second half. She also added three draw controls.
• Sophomore Emma Burke continued her dominant play at the draw, winning 13 against USC -- her third double-digit effort of the season. Burke ranks second in the Big Ten with 79 draw controls and sits 14th nationally, averaging 9.43 per game.
• Burke set a new program single-game record earlier this season with 22 draw controls against Central Michigan, outdrawing the Chippewas by herself (22-11) and winning all but two draws. The mark ranks third in NCAA single-game history.
• Senior Grace Callahan anchored the Michigan defense in the win over USC, tying a career high with four caused turnovers while adding two ground balls. She helped the Wolverines force 11 total turnovers in the contest.
• Michigan matched its program record for goals in a game with 23 against Central Michigan, equaling its output against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 14, 2022.
• Graduate student Ava Class and Callahan were named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Callahan appears on the watch list for the second straight season, and is fifth all-time at Michigan with 67 career caused turnovers and third with 97 ground balls. Class has totaled 75 career points on 55 goals and 20 assists.
• The Wolverines return home for a non-conference matchup against Denver on Thursday (March 26) at 5 p.m., followed by Senior Day against Oregon on Sunday (March 29) at 1 p.m. at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. Both games will stream on B1G+.
