ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team (5-1-2, 2-1-0 Big Ten) continues its homestand with a pair of matches. On Wednesday (Oct. 1) at 7 p.m., the Wolverines will welcome Chicago State (1-7-0), then follow with a Big Ten matchup against Rutgers (6-2-1, 2-1-0 Big Ten) at 2 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 5) for Pups at the Pitch. Both matches will be played at U-M Soccer Stadium and streamed live on B1G+.

• U-M is coming off its first loss of the year, a 2-1 setback against rival Michigan State on Friday (Sept. 26), ending a seven-game unbeaten stretch by the Wolverines to open the season.
• A crowd of 2,341 attended the Maize Out contest, the highest attendance at U-M Soccer Stadium since a 2017 matchup against the Spartans (2,637).
• Michigan took nine shots in the second half of Friday's match, tied for the most shots attempted in any stanza by the Wolverines this season.
• Shuma Sasaki scored the lone goal following a corner kick against the Spartans in the loss, his third score of the season.
• Michael Ramirez recorded an assist on Sasaki's goal, his second helper of the campaign.
• Isaiah Goldson registered two saves in Friday's game, marking his fourth consecutive match with at least that many saves, with the other games coming against Oakland (Sept. 5), Indiana (Sept. 13) and Washington (Sept. 20).
• Michigan will face Chicago State on Wednesday for just the second time in team history, with the Wolverines winning the first matchup 2-1 in 2021 in Ann Arbor.
• Sunday's matchup will be the 15th meeting between Rutgers and the Maize and Blue, with Michigan leading the all-time series 8-3-3 and winning three of their last five matches against the Scarlet Knights.
• Next week, Michigan will travel to College Park, Md., to face off against Maryland in a conference matchup on Friday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.
