GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The American Baseball Coaches Association, in partnership with Rawlings, announced its 2025 All-Region Teams Tuesday (June 10) with two University of Michigan baseball players securing spots.
Second baseman Mitch Voit earned a first-team selection while shortstop Benny Casillas garnered a nod on the second team for the Midwest Region.
Voit played in every contest for the Wolverines and slashed .346/.471/.668. His 14 home runs led the team, and he drew 40 walks while bringing home a team-leading 60 RBIs. Voit also led the Wolverines in stolen bases with 14. He was strong in the field, committing just four errors in 296 chances while turning 38 double plays. He earned All-Big Ten first team and All-Big Ten defensive team honors last month.
Casillas led the Wolverines and the Big Ten with a .401 batting average, becoming just the eleventh player since 1960 to hit over .400 in a season for the Wolverines. He also held an OPS over 1.000 at 1.068, and led the Wolverines in runs with 54 and doubles with 21. Casillas played in all but one contest this season and was second on the team in total bases, trailing only Voit. Casillas earned All-Big Ten second-team honors last month.
Voit becomes the first player since Connor O'Halloran in 2023 to earn ABCA All-Region first-team honors and the first second baseman since Jacob Cronenworth in 2016. Casillas is the first Wolverine to earn ABCA All-Region second-team honors since Tito Flores in 2022 -- and the only other shortstop on the list, joining Michael Brdar in 2017.
