ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (2-2) will return to U-M Lacrosse Stadium when it takes on Canisius (0-4) Tuesday (Feb. 25) at 4 p.m.
Notes
• Michigan remains ranked at 19th nationally in the USILA Poll in week five of the season and will take on Canisius in its first midweek game.
• Senior Ryan Cohen reached the century mark in assists against No. 6 Duke with his two helpers becoming just the second Wolverine in history to eclipse 100 career assists. The senior attacker is also just five goals away from 100 career goals and would become the second player in Michigan lacrosse history to accomplish the feat -- joining Michael Boehm, who recorded 133 career goals and 104 career assists. Cohen also would be the third Wolverine to eclipse 200 career points -- joining Boehm and Josh Zawada. Cohen currently ranks third in the Big Ten with nine assists and was named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
• Junior goalie Hunter Taylor became the third goalie in Michigan men's lacrosse history to tally 300 career saves after making 10 saves at Duke. Taylor moves into third all-time in career saves at U-M and is just 44 stops away from moving into second with Tommy Heidt. The junior goalie has tallied two double-digit save efforts this season.
• Senior Aidan Mulholland recorded his third multi-goal game of the season with two goals at Duke to bring his season total to nine. Mulholland has scored in all four games this season and helped pace the Wolverines to victory at Hobart as he scored four goals, including three in the fourth quarter, and added two assists to his tally for a career-high six points.
• Michigan's defensive unit forced one shot clock violation, caused five failed Duke clears and pressured the Blue Devils into 16 turnovers in the overtime contest. In four games, the U-M defense has forced 75 turnovers.
• U-M dominated in its first game of the 2025 campaign with a 14-1 win over Marquette. The Wolverines allowed the fewest goals in program history and rattled off 14 straight goals in the victory. The Michigan defense kept the Golden Eagles scoreless for 48 minutes and 51 seconds as Marquette scored its lone goal with 11:49 remaining in the first quarter. The defensive trio of Pace Billings, Kees van Wees and Mason Whitney caused four turnovers and picked up nine ground balls combined, while holding Marquette to 26 shots compared to Michigan's 49.
• Head coach Kevin Conry is in his eighth season at the helm of the Michigan program and returns both Jim Rogalski and Scott Bieda as assistant coaches, while adding Jared McMahon as his third assistant for the 2025 campaign. Conry has brought the U-M program to new heights, winning back-to-back Big Ten Tournament championships in 2023 and 2024 as well as making two straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and having the first All-American citations in the history of the program.
• Michigan will remain at U-M Lacrosse Stadium for another midweek contest on Tuesday, March 4, to take on Cleveland State at 5 p.m.
