- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Scott Bieda has now spent four seasons in Ann Arbor as an assistant coach for the Wolverines after being hired in July, 2022. Bieda works with the program’s offense and has helped U-M to new heights in his first three seasons.
The 2025 season saw Michigan's offense post the fifth-most goals in a season (149) while fighting through an array of injuries at attack. Senior Ryan Cohen became the program's all-time assist leader under Bieda's leadership while earning first-team All-Big Ten honors and a USILA All-American honorable mention nod.
Bieda’s offense has etched its name in the Michigan record book as the team set a program record in points (360), goals (230) and assists (130) in 2023 en route to the Wolverines first-ever Big Ten Tournament title and NCAA postseason bid. U-M followed it up in 2024 with its second-straight Big Ten Tournament title and 10-win season, while the offense had 349 points to rank second in Michigan laurels.
Under Bieda’s tutelage, Michael Boehm ended his career as the Michigan all-time points leader with 237 career points and was recognized as an USILA All-American honorable mention selection. Boehm finished the 2023 season with 73 points to rank second in U-M single-season laurels, while Ryan Cohen’s 71 points in 2024 ranked third for the Wolverines in single-season history.
Prior to coming to Michigan, Bieda spent six seasons as Lafayette College where he was the offensive coordinator for four of those seasons. The Leopards averaged 12.07 goals per game in 2022, while he helped Peter Lehman to Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors in 2021 and second team all-conference honors in 2022.
Bieda spent two seasons playing Major League Lacrosse for the Boston Cannons where he was teammates with former Wolverine standout Kyle Jackson.
A 2016 graduate of Rutgers University, Bieda was the Big Ten Player of the Year, a two-time first team All-Big Ten selection and a three-time B1G All-Tournament team honoree.
