
Michigan to Travel to New York to Face Hobart

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 17-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (1-1) continues its three-game road stretch as it heads to Hobart (1-0) on Saturday (Feb. 15) for a noon contest at Stiles Field.
Notes
• Michigan will take on unranked Hobart, which earned a victory in its season-opener against Canisius.
• Senior Ryan Cohen is just six goals and six assists away from reaching the century mark in both categories. Cohen would be the second player in Michigan lacrosse history to accomplish the feat, joining Michael Boehm, who recorded 133 career goals and 104 career assists. Cohen also would be the third Wolverine to eclipse 200 career points, joining Boehm and Josh Zawada. For his efforts, Cohen was named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
• Sophomore Jack Jenkins has stepped up for his second season in the maize and blue as he has recorded two goals and five assists in two outings after appearing in just five games in 2024. Last time out, Jenkins tallied a team-high three assists and is tied for fifth in the Big Ten with five total helpers.
• Graduate student Pace Billings added two caused turnovers at North Carolina and ranks sixth in the Big Ten with four caused turnovers, while sophomore Jackie Weller ties for fourth in the conference with 11 ground balls.
• U-M dominated its season opener, a 14-1 win over Marquette. The Wolverines allowed the fewest goals in program history and rattled off 14 unanswered goals in the victory. The Michigan defense kept the Golden Eagles scoreless for 48:51, with Marquette scoring its lone goal with 11:49 remaining in the first quarter. The defensive trio of Billings, Kees van Wees and Mason Whitney caused four turnovers and picked up nine ground balls combined while holding Marquette to 26 shots compared to Michigan's 49.
• Head coach Kevin Conry is in his eighth season at the helm of the Michigan program and returns both Jim Rogalski and Scott Bieda as assistant coaches, while adding Jared McMahon as his third assistant for the 2025 campaign. Conry has won back-to-back Big Ten Tournament championships in 2023 and 2024 and made two straight NCAA Tournament appearances while having the first All-America citations in program history.
• Michigan has seven regular-season contests remaining at U-M Lacrosse Stadium and will also play host to the semifinals and finals of the Big Ten Tournament, May 1-3.
• U-M closes its road stint next Saturday (Feb. 22) when it takes on Duke at noon.
