
Michigan to Travel to Northwestern for Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinal

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5-seeded University of Michigan men's soccer team (4-5-7) begins its quest for the Big Ten Championship on Friday (Nov. 3) when it travels to No. 4-seed Northwestern (10-3-3) for a 7 p.m. CDT contest against the Wildcats at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium. The match will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan is 17-19-2 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament and has faced the Northwestern five times with three wins. The Wolverines have been successful at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium as they hold a 6-3-1 overall record.
• Most recently, Michigan earned a 3-0 shutout over the Wildcats on Sunday (Oct. 29) in the regular-season finale at U-M Soccer Stadium. The game-winner came from Riley Ferch in the first 16 minutes of action. The shutout was the fifth of the season for the Wolverines and the fourth in Big Ten play.
• Freshman Alex Waggoner was named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com Team of the Week after scoring two goals in the final week of the regular season. Waggoner has scored a team-best five goals and he has appeared in all 16 matches with 12 starts and 1,156 minutes on the pitch.
• Freshman goalkeeper Isaiah Goldson earned his fourth shutout of the season, making five saves against the Wildcats. This season, Goldson has made 43 saves and has a .729 save percentage.
• Michigan has scored six goals in the past two matches from five different players, while seven players have contributed at least one point in the last two games. Waggoner recorded two goals, while Bryce Blevins scored a goal and added an assist against Cleveland State and Ferch had a goal and an assist in the final week of the regular season.
