
Richardson Earns Spot on 2019 Senior All-Star Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior defender Madison Richardson has been chosen to participate in the 2019 Senior All-Star Game announced by the IWLCA today (Friday, May 24). Richardson has been chosen for the North Team, coached by UMBC head coach Amy Slade.
The Senior All-Star games will be held on Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, on Saturday, June 1, 2019. The Division III teams will play the first game at 11:30 a.m., the Division I game will follow at 1 p.m., and the Division II teams will cap off the event with their game at 2:30 p.m. Admission for all three games is free of charge. The games will also be web-streamed live on IWLCA-tv.com.
The senior defender joins five other Big Ten Conference players with all five playing on the South Team. Maryland and Johns Hopkins will have two representatives on the South Team, while Penn State will have one.
Richardson anchored the backline in her final season as a Wolverine, starting 19 games. The senior defender ranks third on the team with 18 caused turnovers and adds 25 ground balls to rank sixth. Richardson notched a season-best four ground balls at UC Davis on Feb. 9 and has had two games with three caused turnovers, most recently against Ohio State on March 21.
