ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's lacrosse head coach Jennifer Ulehla announced today (Wednesday, Sept. 9) that Molly Hulseman, who recently concluded a successful four-year playing career at Loyola University, has joined the staff as an assistant coach.
"I'm excited to announce the addition of Molly Hulseman to our coaching staff," said Ulehla. "Molly brings invaluable experience playing at a very competitive DI collegiate level that our student-athletes can easily relate to and strive to emulate. Her knowledge of the game is extensive, having played under an exceptional coaching staff at Loyola University. But most importantly, Molly values developing relationships and making a difference in our student-athlete's lives. Her passion and eagerness to join our staff was unquestionable. Molly is compelled to work for Michigan Lacrosse and will be an incredible asset to our program."
"I am thrilled to be a part of a storied athletic powerhouse like Michigan," said Hulseman. "I would like to thank coach Ulehla and the athletic department for giving me the opportunity to join the women's lacrosse coaching staff. I cannot wait to help build this team to compete with the best programs in the nation."
A four-year starter at Loyola as an attacker/midfielder, Hulseman helped the Greyhounds compile a 58-26 record in four seasons and advance to four straight NCAA Tournaments, including a trip to the quarterfinals in her senior year. She also led Loyola to the Big East regular-season title in 2012 and back-to-back Patriot League championships in 2014 and 2015. Hulseman finished her career with 70 goals and 29 assists. Following her senior season, she was the recipient of the 2015 Reverend Francis J. McManamin Unsung Hero Award, which is voted on by all fellow student-athletes at Loyola.
During her time at Loyola, Hulseman assisted with several camps and clinics and was also a member of LU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). In May 2015, she graduated from Loyola with a bachelor's degree in biology.
Hulseman has also gained coaching experience, serving as a coach, personal trainer, tournament coordinator and camp counselor for Sports Made Personal in Chicago, Illinois, since 2009. In that role, she helped train girls from ages 6-19 at varying levels of ability. In addition, she was also the head coach of two age groups for the Team One Lacrosse Club in Chicago.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Hulseman attended Loyola Academy -- the same high school as current Wolverine junior Anna Schueler and freshman Megan Schulte.
