ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's and women's lacrosse teams will hold "U-Meet the Athlete," a fundraiser to benefit U-M's Division of Kinesiology KidsSport program, on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 1-3 p.m. at Oosterbaan Field House.
U-Meet the Athlete gives kids grades K-8 the opportunity to participate in sport clinics with University of Michigan varsity student-athletes. This week's event will feature players from the men's and women's lacrosse teams. Children are invited to attend and receive lacrosse instruction from members of the teams and receive autographs from their favorite players.
This marks the third year the lacrosse programs will take an active role in fundraising for the organization. Other U-M sports, such as baseball, golf and tennis will host similar U-Meet the Athlete events in the coming months.
Admission is $20, with all proceeds going to benefit the Jeff Reese KidSport Scholarship Fund. The fund provides scholarships for disadvantaged kids to attend the University of Michigan's KidSport Summer Camp, where children play sports and participate in other recreational during the summer months.
