Rose Triggers Michigan Rally in 6-1 Win

Michigan (1-1) controlled the game, taking 47 shots to Radford's 9 and winning 18 penalty corners to Radford's 2. Still, Radford, outshot 22-3 in the first half, entered the intermission with a 1-0 lead. Michigan responded with six unanswered goals in the second half to grab command of the game.
Michigan opened the second half strongly. Rose scored at 30:00 and then again at 28:00 to give the Wolverines a 2-1 advantage. Reid and defenseman Catherine Foreman (Happy Valley, South Australia/Westminster School) combined on a pair of assists, helping Kelli Gannon (Escondido, Calif./San Pasqual HS) and Johnson tally Michigan's third and fourth goals. Reid scored a goal of her own, with an assist from Rose, at 16:01 before Erica Widder (Lititz, Pa./Warwick HS) closed the scoring with 0:55 left in the game.
Michigan returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 1, with a 3 p.m. game at Ball State before opening its home season on Sept. 5 against Northeastern (1 p.m.).
