Notes
• Michigan enters the week riding a four-game winning streak, having won 12 of its last 14 contests. The Wolverines are coming off a weekend sweep of Northwestern, highlighted by a 7-6 opening win, an 8-3 victory powered by a career-high nine strikeouts from Shane Brinham, and a dominant complete-game performance from David Lally Jr. in the finale, allowing just one unearned run on one hit. U-M also secured a 6-4 midweek win over Toledo last week.
• Colby Turner continued his standout season with five hits and four runs scored against Northwestern. He leads the Big Ten with a .397 batting average and ranks fourth in total bases (104). Turner also paces the team in several offensive categories, including nine home runs, and carries a 19-game hitting streak with 35 hits during that span -- tied for the program's longest streak in the past eight seasons.
• Brayden Jefferis hit .500 over the four-game week, including recording his first career home run at Toledo last Tuesday (April 14). The sophomore scored three runs and brought home four RBIs. This season, Jefferis is hitting .313 with a .415 on-base percentage, ranking second on the team in both marks. Jefferis has been strong in the field with just one error in 109 chances.
• Joonsung Park had just four at-bats on the season, and three career starts entering the weekend series against Northwestern, but started all three games over the weekend, adding eight at-bats. Park tallied a hit in each contest -- including two doubles on Saturday's contest, scoring a run and adding three RBIs in the middle game. The junior is hitting .333 this season with two runs on four hits with four RBIs.
• Cade Montgomery has emerged as a key arm out of the bullpen after starting the year in the starting rotation, allowing just three runs over his last 17.2 innings. He closed out Toledo by retiring the final eight batters, striking out four. Montgomery has recorded 34 strikeouts over 42.0 innings and lowered his ERA to 5.57.
• Erik Puodziunas impressed in last week's midweek start, striking out five and allowing two runs on three hits across 3.1 innings against Toledo, matching his career high in strikeouts. He has totaled 15 strikeouts over 17.2 innings this season.
• Miami (Ohio) enters at 25-13 overall and 11-2 at home, winning eight of its last 11 games. The RedHawks recently took a series from Toledo and claimed an extra-inning win over Purdue. Michigan holds a 21-8 record against head coach Tracy Smith's alma mater, though the teams have not met since 1988 and U-M has not traveled to Oxford since 1986.
• Bowling Green is 15-23 overall and 8-17 on the road, but owns a midweek win over Ohio State earlier this month. The Falcons have dropped six of their last seven games. Michigan leads the all-time series 48-15-1 and has won seven straight matchups, including a 9-2 victory last season.
