ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team fell to Nebraska, 10-0, in seven innings on Saturday afternoon (March 21) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium, evening the series.

Nebraska (17-6, 4-1 Big Ten) set the tone early, plating two runs in the first inning. After stranding three runners in the second, the Cornhuskers added three runs on three hits in the third to extend their lead. Nebraska broke the game open with four runs in the fourth and capped its scoring with one more in the fifth.

Michigan (11-10, 1-4 Big Ten) recorded eight hits, but could not push a run across. The Wolverines threatened in multiple innings, including the third when Drew Culbertson singled and stole second with one out, but was left stranded. In the fourth, Colby Turner singled to lead off and Noah Miller followed with a one-out base hit, though back-to-back strikeouts ended the inning.

Michigan put together another opportunity in the sixth, as Joe Longo and Brenden Stressler opened the frame with consecutive singles. A strikeout and double play, however, halted the rally.

On the mound, Michael Quedens tossed a scoreless inning, while Brandon Mann and Keegan O'Hearn followed with shutout frames in the sixth and seventh to close the game.

Turner led Michigan with two hits, while six other Wolverines added one apiece.

Michigan will look to secure the series on Sunday (March 22), with first pitch set for 11 a.m. The game, originally scheduled for 1 p.m., was moved up due to forecasted inclement weather and will be streamed on B1G+.
