Notes
• The Wolverines improved to 2-0 after doubling up Marquette, 14-7, on the road in week two of the season.
• Junior Nick Roode led the Michigan attack in game two of the season as he tied a career-high five goals. The Peterborough, Ontario, native put 10 of his 11 shots on cage, while also picking up two ground balls, and adding one caused turnover. Heading into week three of the season, Roode is tied for ninth nationally with 4.00 goals per game, having scored nine goals to lead Michigan.
• Senior goalie Hunter Taylor produced his first multi-save contest of the season as he made 12 saves at Marquette to rank 20th nationally in saves per game. Taylor made seven saves in the first quarter against the Golden Eagles -- ranking second nationally with a .800 save percentage. Additionally, Taylor picked up five ground balls and had one caused turnover.
• The Wolverines outscored the Marquette in all four quarters, with Roode leading the offense and junior CJ Reilly adding two goals of his own. The quartet of Alex Gatto, Kade Goldberg, Jack Jenkins and Bo Lockwood had two assists each, while Gatto and Goldberg also netted a goal for the Maize and Blue. Goldberg and Michael Kelly's goals were their first donning the maize and blue.
• Michigan set a program record to open the 2026 season as it scored 24 goals against Mercyhurst. The Wolverines broke the previous program record of 23 goals in a single game set on Feb. 22, 2022, against Canisius. U-M went on a 14-1 run to open the game and finished with another 10 straight goals in the decisive victory.
• Junior Kevin Kearns has been named Michigan's male nominee for the Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award. Kearns founded and organized a nationwide College Lacrosse 9/11 Stair Climb, where the men's and women's lacrosse teams ran 110 flights of stairs in the Big House -- raising $80,000 for families of FDNY first responders through the Michael J. Cawley Memorial Foundation. He is a 2025-26 Team Impact Fellow, taking charge of welcoming Lukas as a member of the Michigan men's lacrosse family for the upcoming spring season.
• Head coach Kevin Conry enters his ninth season at the helm of the Michigan program and returns both Jim Rogalski as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator, while adding Will Corrigan as the offensive coordinator and Liam Entenmann as his third assistant. Conry has brought the U-M program to new heights, winning back-to-back Big Ten Tournament championships in 2023 and 2024 -- as well as making two straight NCAA Tournaments and having the first All-America citations in the history of the program.
• Upcoming, Michigan will head to Atlanta, Ga., for a neutral site contest against Army Saturday (Feb. 21) at noon.
