
Michigan to Travel for Neutral Site Contest Against No. 11 Army

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team heads to Atlanta, Ga., for a neutral-site contest Saturday (Feb. 21) at noon against No. 11 Army as part of the Atlanta Lacrosse Invitational at BT Harvey Stadium on the campus of Morehouse College. The game is set to be broadcast on ESPN+.
Notes
• The Wolverines move to 3-1 overall on the season after splitting a pair of home games this past week against Detroit Mercy and Lehigh. Michigan earned the victory against the Titans, 11-7, before falling in a one-point contest to Lehigh, 14-13, at U-M Lacrosse Stadium.
• Freshman Luke Shannehan led the Michigan offense with 10 points on the week, including eight goals and two assists. Shannehan paced the Wolverines against Detroit Mercy as he tied a career-best five goals on seven shots while adding one assist. The freshman attackman wrapped up the week with his third career hat trick with three goals on seven shots. Shannehan leads the Wolverines with 19 points, including 14 goals and five assists. He also carries a .750 shots-on-goal percentage, as 21 of his 28 shots have been on cage.
• In total, three Wolverines have reached double-digit points as Nick Roode and Bo Lockwood join Shannehan. Roode has a team-best 15 goals and has added three assists for 18 total points in four games. Lockwood leads the team in assists with five on the season and has scored four goals for 10 points.
• The Wolverines outscored Marquette in all four quarters with Roode leading the offense, tying a career-best five goals, while junior CJ Reilly added two goals. The quartet of Alex Gatto, Kade Goldberg, Jack Jenkins and Lockwood had two assists each, while Gatto and Goldberg also netted a goal for the Maize and Blue. Goldberg and Michael Kelly's goals were their first donning the Maize and Blue.
• Michigan set a program record to open the 2026 season as it scored 24 goals against Mercyhurst. The Wolverines broke the previous program record of 23 goals in a single game set on Feb. 22, 2022, against Canisius. U-M went on a 14-1 run to open the game and finished with another 10 straight goals in the decisive victory.
• Junior Kevin Kearns has been named Michigan's male nominee for the Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award. Kearns founded and organized a nationwide College Lacrosse 9/11 Stair Climb, where the men's and women's lacrosse teams ran 110 flights of stairs in the Big House, raising $80,000 for families of FDNY first responders through the Michael J. Cawley Memorial Foundation. He is a 2025-26 Team Impact Fellow, taking charge of welcoming Lukas as a member of the Michigan men's lacrosse family for the upcoming spring season.
• Michigan continues on the road when it travels to Denver, Colo., to take on the Pioneers at 1 p.m. MT Saturday (Feb. 28).
