
Michigan to Close Out Road Stint at No. 6 Duke

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (2-1) closes out its three-game road stint on Saturday (Feb. 22) when it takes on No. 6 Duke for a noon contest at Koskinen Stadium.
Notes
• Michigan ranks 19th in the latest USILA Poll (Feb. 17) and will take on No. 6 Duke. The Blue Devils are the second ranked opponent the Wolverines face through the season's first four weeks.
• Senior Ryan Cohen is just five goals and two assists away from reaching the century mark in both categories. Cohen would be the second player in Michigan lacrosse history to accomplish the feat, joining Michael Boehm, who recorded 133 career goals and 104 career assists. Cohen also would be the third Wolverine to eclipse 200 career points, joining Boehm and Josh Zawada. Cohen ranks third in the Big Ten this season with seven assists and seventh with 12 points. For his efforts, Cohen has been named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
• Sophomore Jack Jenkins has stepped up for his second season in the maize and blue, recording 11 points with six goals and five assists in three outings. He scored four goals at Hobart and added five ground balls and one caused turnover. Jenkins also has tallied at least three points in all three games this season and had at least three ground balls.
• Senior Aidan Mulholland helped pace the Wolverines to victory at Hobart as he scored four goals, including three in the fourth quarter, and added two assists to his tally for a career-high six points. Mulholland has scored seven goals and has three assists this season while recording three ground balls.
• The trio of Pace Billings, Kees van Wees and Mason Whitney have been anchoring the defensive end of the field for Michigan. Billings and Whitney ranks seventh in the conference with five caused turnovers, while van Wees is tied for 12th in the conference with four caused turnovers. Billings also ranks sixth in the conference with 13 ground balls.
• U-M dominated in its first game of the 2025 campaign with a 14-1 win over Marquette. The Wolverines allowed the fewest goals in program history and rattled off 14 unanswered goals in the victory. Marquette scored its only goal with 11:49 remaining in the first quarter before the Michigan defense kept the Golden Eagles scoreless over the final 48:51. The defensive trio of Billings, van Wees and Mason Whitney caused four turnovers and combined to pick up nine ground balls while holding Marquette to 26 shots compared to Michigan's 49.
• Michigan has seven regular-season contests remaining inside U-M Lacrosse Stadium and will also play host to the semifinals and finals of the Big Ten Conference Tournament from May 1-3.
• U-M will return to U-M Lacrosse Stadium for a mid-week non-conference contest against Canisius on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 4 p.m. on B1G+.
