Notes
• Eleven different Wolverine players have scored at least one goal this season, including seven different goal scorers in Michigan's win over Davidson on Sept. 8. Freshman Kelsey Reviello leads U-M with four goals while seven Wolverines own multiple goals already this fall. Michigan has outscored its opposition 21-13 through nine games.
• Reviello has been on a tear of late, scoring goals four of the last five games. She had a hand in all three goals at Kent State (Sept. 17), including an assist on senior Lora Clarke's first-quarter marker. Clarke, who assisted on Reviello's goal, leads the team in points (10) with two goals and six assists so far this season.
• Newcomers have accounted for nearly half (10-of-21) of the Wolverines' goals this season. Reviello leads U-M, while fellow freshman Esmée de Willigen and graduate student Isabella Palde own two apiece.
• Senior Anouk Veen has appeared in each of the last two games after missing six with injury. Veen, a 2021 All-American, previously scored in the Wolverines' season opener at UNC (Aug. 25).
• All four Michigan losses this season have come against ranked opponents, including two -- North Carolina (Aug. 25) and Iowa (Sept. 22) -- who were ranked No. 1 at the time of the meetings.
• Indiana enters the weekend with a 4-5 record this season and is coming off a split weekend; the Hoosiers lost 1-0 to Michigan State last Friday (Sept. 22) on the road before beating James Madison 3-2 on Sunday (Sept. 24). Sarah Charley leads the Hoosiers with four goals and three assists, while goalkeeper Shannon McNally owns a 1.64 goals-against average and .719 save percentage. Michigan carries a 22-8 advantage in the all-time series against Indiana with the Wolverines winning each of the last seven meetings, including a 6-0 decision last season.
• Northwestern is 9-1 this season, adding two wins on the road this past weekend, defeating Ohio State 4-3 last Friday (Sept. 22) and Princeton 4-0 on Sunday (Sept. 24). Peyton Halsey leads the Wildcats in points with eight goals and four assists. Goalkeeper Annabel Skubisz carries a .700 goals-against average and .806 save percentage. Michigan and Northwestern are tied with a 34-34 all-time series record with the two teams splitting a pair of games last year. NU claimed the regular-season meeting 1-0 in double overtime, while Michigan earned a 2-1 decision in the Big Ten Tournament championship game.
• Junior Abby Tamer will redshirt the 2023 season to train and compete with the USA Field Hockey Women's National Team in its bid to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Tamer, a 2022 NFHCA All-West Region second team honoree who has accumulated 13 goals and nine assists over 39 games played and two seasons at Michigan, earned her first senior-level international cap and goal in June.
