
Michigan to Head to Penn State for Big Ten Conference Match

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (2-4-7, 1-0-5 Big Ten) travels to State College, Pa., for a 4 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 22) conference contest against Penn State (7-3-3, 3-2-1 Big Ten) at Jeffrey Field. The matchup will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network.
Notes
• Michigan is tied for fifth in the Big Ten standings with eight points and is one of just two unbeaten teams in conference action. Penn State sits in a four-way tie for first with 10 points after its most recent loss to Rutgers.
• Freshman goalkeeper Isaiah Goldson has started the last eight games in goal and notched three shutouts. Goldson has a .756 save percentage and ranks fifth in the Big Ten with his 31 saves and third with his 3.33 saves per game.
• The Wolverines have started at least five true freshmen in all 13 matches and have played nine true freshman overall this season. Michigan has Matthew Fisher and Will Baker starting on the backline and Goldson in goal, while Duilio Herrera, Joao Paulo Ramos and Alex Waggoner all have earned at least three starts on the offensive side of the ball.
