U-M to Face First Road Test at Notre Dame

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's soccer team (2-0-1) will hit the road for the first time this season when it takes on Notre Dame (1-1-2) on Sunday (Sept. 6) at 3:30 p.m. in South Bend, Ind. The match will be nationally televised on ACC Network.
Notes
• Michigan earned its first two wins of the season against Niagara on Thursday (Aug. 27) and SIUE on Sunday (Aug. 30), scoring three goals in each victory.
• Grayson Elmquist led the Michigan offense with seven points across the two wins, recording three goals and one assist. Elmquist was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 1).
• Alen Bean earned his first two wins of the season as Michigan's starting goalkeeper. He has recorded nine saves in three matches this season and was named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week on Aug. 25.
• First-year transfer Nico Pendleton scored his first goal as a Wolverine to tie the match against SIUE. Pendleton also recorded his first assist at U-M in the win over Niagara.
• Michigan leads the Big Ten and ranks third nationally with nine corner kicks per match.
• Eight Wolverines have recorded at least one point through three matches, led by Elmquist with seven.
• Michigan and Notre Dame will meet for the 24th time, marking the Wolverines' second-most-played non-conference series in program history.
• The teams met twice last season, playing to a 1-1 draw in the 2025 season opener before Notre Dame earned a 1-0 win in the NCAA Tournament.
• Following the Notre Dame match, Michigan will return home to open Big Ten play against Indiana on Friday (Sept. 11).
