ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (7-5, 3-1 Big Ten) will host No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday (April 19) at U-M Lacrosse Stadium, with the winner claiming the Big Ten championship. The game will air live on Big Ten Network at 4 p.m., and Michigan will honor 19 graduating student-athletes in a Senior Day ceremony before the game.
Notes
• U-M is 6-11 all-time against Ohio State (11-2, 3-1 Big Ten) in a series that began in 2012. The Wolverines have won the last four meetings. This is the first time both teams enter the matchup ranked in the USILA Top 20, with each seeking its first Big Ten crown.
• Michigan has played the 12th-toughest schedule in the country and will be facing its seventh consecutive ranked opponent. U-M is ranked No. 12 in this week's USILA Top 20 poll, its highest of the season.
• Ryan Cohen, a 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List honoree, has recorded at least one point in each of his 60 career games. He is just 17 points away from tying the Michigan program record for most career points. He already holds the program's career assists record with 114 — the third-highest total among active Division I players.
• Three additional Wolverines carry point streaks into Saturday's contest: Lukas Stanat has 22 points over his last 10 games, Bo Lockwood has seven points across his last four, and Alex Lobel has six points in his current three-game run.
• The Michigan defense, tied for 12th nationally in goals allowed per game, has caused double-digit turnovers in three straight contests. Mason Whitney, Pace Billings, and Kees van Wees have combined for 55 caused turnovers this season, with Whitney and Billings ranking third and fourth in the Big Ten at 1.8 and 1.6 per game, respectively.
• Saturday's matchup will be played in front of a sold-out crowd, Michigan's third home sellout of the season. The Maize and Blue faithful set a U-M Lacrosse Stadium attendance record earlier this year with 2,767 fans against Notre Dame (March 15).
• Michigan opened its Big Ten slate with program-first wins over Maryland and Johns Hopkins and earned its third conference win last weekend at Rutgers, also a program best.
• A win over the Buckeyes would clinch the top seed, a first round bye, and a semifinal appearance in the 2025 Big Ten Tournament hosted at the U-M Lacrosse Stadium starting May 1 in Ann Arbor. A loss on Saturday locks Michigan into the fourth seed, where it would host fifth-seeded Rutgers in the opening round of the playoffs next weekend.
