
Michigan Falls to UCLA in Big Ten Final

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 16-ranked and No. 3-seeded University of Michigan men's soccer team fell to No. 4-seeded UCLA, 5-0, on Sunday (Nov. 16) in the Big Ten Tournament final.
Shuma Sasaki paced the Wolverines' offense with three shots in the contest.
UCLA (8-6-4) opened the scoring in the 13th minute as Konstantinos Georgallides found the back of the net to put the Bruins ahead, 1-0. Michigan (12-3-4) responded with consistent pressure, but UCLA doubled its lead in the 38th minute to take a 2-0 advantage into the break.
The Bruins added a third goal in the 52nd minute to extend the margin to 3-0. Sergi Solans Ormo was responsible for both of UCLA's next tallies, before Georgallides capped the scoring to make it 5-0 as the Bruins secured the win.
Michigan will now await its NCAA Tournament fate, with the selection show scheduled for Monday (Nov. 17).
