Notes
• Michigan is 1-1-2 overall on the season after a strong showing that ended in a tie against No. 9 Akron and taking its first loss at Bowling Green.
• Freshmen have made an impact early, as Matthew Fisher and Duilio Herrera have started all four matches, while Alex Waggoner scored a goal and Joao Paulo Ramos added an assist.
• Junior Michael Leon has come into his junior season strong and healthy, making an appearance in all four matches. After getting off various shots in the first three games, Leon found the back of the net as he scored U-M's lone goal against Bowling Green off a pass from Hayden Evans. This season, Leon has six shots with five on goal for an .833 shots-on-goal percentage.
• Graduate student Moshtaba Al-Hasnawi moved to the backline in his final season and helped Michigan to its first shutout of the season, tallying three points in the opening weekend. Al-Hasnawi scored U-M's first goal of the season and the equalizer against Loyola Marymount before he tacked on an assist against Cal Baptist.
• The Michigan defense has proved its strength in front of Evans this season, warding off 13 second-half shots against high-powered Akron. The Wolverines did so with just 10 men following a U-M defender picking up a second yellow card.
• Evans earned the start between the pipes in the first four matches and made six saves. He notched his fifth career shutout against Cal Baptist and now has 101 career saves to his name.
