ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan baseball head coach Tracy Smith announced Tuesday (Sept. 20) the program's 2022 fall baseball schedule, featuring two games at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium.
Michigan will host two opponents from Ohio, opening their season with a game against Xavier on Saturday, Oct. 1 at noon. On Saturday, Oct. 22 the Wolverines will welcome Dayton at noon.
Admission is free to both fall exhibition games.
These fall games will provide U-M baseball fans their first opportunities to see the 2023 Wolverines lineup, featuring 29 returning players from last season's Big Ten Tournament-winning team. Last year, the Maize and Blue finished with a 34-28 record and made it to the NCAA Regional Final. Team 157 is joined by three transfers coming from Michigan State, University of San Diego and Ohio University and six freshmen.
Five of the Michigan batters in last season's final game against Louisville are back this season, including Jimmy Obertop, Tito Flores, Ted Burton, Jake Marti and Joey Velazquez.
