Wolverines Announce Schedule of Fall Events

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team announced Thursday (Sept. 8) a series of events taking place this fall, beginning with the team's annual Scout Day game on Sept. 26.
The annual U-M Scout Day will take place Monday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex, home of historic Ray Fisher Stadium. Major League scouts will get a chance to see the Wolverines take batting practice, check out their fielding, and time them in the 60-yard dash. There also will be a nine-inning game following the drills. UPDATE: SCOUT DAY WILL NOW TAKE PLACE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MAIZE AND BLUE GAME ON OCT. 16.
The sixth annual alumni tailgate and meet-and-greet will take place Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning two and a half hours prior to Michigan's football game against Minnesota. The tailgate event will take place at Ray Fisher Stadium and is free to all U-M baseball alumni and their guests. It is open to the public for a $20 fee.
The following day (Oct. 2), the baseball program will host its 10th annual golf outing at the U-M Golf Course. The outing is open to the public, but space is limited, with reservations due by Sept. 26. The format is a four-person scramble with a 9:30 a.m. check-in with breakfast before the 11 a.m. shotgun start. (THIS IS A TIME CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL RELEASE) The entry fee of $130 per person or $500 for a foursome includes green fees, cart, on-course beverages, lunch and dinner. Prizes will be awarded and there will be a raffle after the outing. Proceeds benefit the U-M baseball team.
Michigan will host the Ontario Blue Jays in an exhibition contest on Monday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex. The Blue Jays are based in Ontario, Canada, and are a high-level summer baseball program that competes in the Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO). Admission is free for the game against the Blue Jays.
The team will wrap up fall practice with the annual Maize and Blue game on Sunday, Oct. 16, beginning at 11 a.m.
