
Mills Inks Deal with St. Louis Cardinals

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Tyler Mills (Mt. Pleasant, Mich./Mt. Pleasant) of the University of Michigan baseball team signed a contract to play professionally with the St. Louis Cardinals organization today (Monday, June 13). Mills is one of 27 picks the Cardinals announced have signed with their organization.
Mills was selected by St. Louis in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on June 7. He will report to Johnson City, Tenn., the rookie league affiliate that plays in the Appalachian League and begins play on June 21.
The Wolverine hurler pitched in 19 games during the 2011 campaign, striking out 48 in 52 innings.
