CHANDLER, Ariz. -- University of Michigan field hockey senior Bryn Bain (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) has been selected to participate in the 2011 NFCHA Division I Senior Game, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. in Louisville, Ky.
This year's Senior Game participants will face off against the U.S. Women's National team as well as against each other in a series of four 25-minute sessions.
Bain, a midfielder, leads the Wolverines with nine assists to go along with six goals in 2011. She has started all 18 games for the Maize and Blue and had an eight-game point-scoring streak from Sept. 23 to Oct. 23. Bain scored the game-winning goal in Michigan's 3-2 double-overtime victory over Northwestern on Oct. 7 and had two goals and an assist in a win over Miami on Sept. 24. She is a perfect 2-for-2 in penalty strokes, scoring in both the Ohio State and Miami games. Bain, who also had a goal and an assist at North Carolina on Oct. 23, has 16 career goals and 16 assists in her four-year U-M career.
No. 7 Michigan heads to the 2011 Big Ten Tournament on the campus of Penn State University. The Wolverines have a bye in the first round of the tournament and will face either Iowa or Indiana this Friday (Nov. 4) at 10 a.m. in the first semifinal.
