EVANSTON, Ill. -- A steady downpour caused the Michigan-Northwestern Big Ten baseball doubleheader to be rained out Saturday afternoon (May 11) at Rocky Miller Park. The two teams will attempt to close out the weekend series with a doubleheader Sunday (May 12) starting at noon CDT.
The Wolverines (17-28, 11-14 Big Ten) took the opener of the series from the Wildcats (19-25, 10-13 Big Ten) 14-6 on Friday (May 10). With the rainout of the doubleheader on Saturday it means that the series will be three games instead of four and it will be Michigan's first game of the Big Ten season lost to weather.
Michigan moved from 10th into a tie for seventh place with Purdue following Friday conference action.
