ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team closes out the 2026 regular-season slate with a pair of top-five matchups at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The Wolverines first host No. 3 Maryland on Thursday (April 16) at 8 p.m. before welcoming No. 2 Northwestern on Saturday (April 18) at 6 p.m. Both games will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
Notes
• Michigan comes into the 11th week of the season ranked No. 11 nationally. The Wolverines have beaten six ranked opponents this season, including then-No. 5 Florida and then-No. 6 Boston College.
• Michigan's backline ranks No. 18 nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 8.57 goals per game. The Wolverines did not give up a goal for over 20 minutes against No. 20 Denver, and Oregon went more than 30 minutes without scoring. Most recently, Jordyn Harrison had four caused turnovers and three ground balls, while Megan Minturn had two caused turnovers and a ground ball at No. 9 Johns Hopkins.
• Graduate student Ava Class recorded her 100th career point at Johns Hopkins, tallying both a goal and an assist to reach the milestone. Class has 21 points this season and owns 65 goals and 35 assists in her Michigan career.
• Sophomore Emma Burke broke the Michigan career draw controls record and now has 265 draw control wins. Burke surpassed Anna Schueler's mark of 239 (2014-17) after tallying 135 as a freshman and 130 so far this season. She ranks 12th nationally with 9.29 draws per game and second in the Big Ten with 130 wins this season. Burke previously broke her own single-game record with 22 draw controls against Central Michigan, single-handedly outdrawing CMU, 22-11, and winning all but two draws. Her 22 draw controls rank third all-time in NCAA single-game history with Haley Wagner of Marist (April 27, 2019).
• Senior Grace Callahan needs just six ground balls to tie the Michigan all-time record of 111 set by Maddie Burns in 2024. Callahan has 19 ground balls this season and recorded 30 over the last two seasons. The defender also has 75 caused turnovers and needs five more to tie the program record of 80 set by Madeline Dion in 2017. Callahan tied a Michigan single-game record with six caused turnovers against Oregon and ranks 11th in the conference this season.
• The Michigan trio of Class, Callahan and Calli Norris were named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Watch List. Callahan earned a spot for the second straight season, while it is the first appearance for Class and Norris.
• Michigan will play for a Big Ten Tournament championship starting Wednesday (April 22) at U-M Lacrosse Stadium, with the semifinals set for Friday (April 24) and the championship on Sunday (April 26).
