
Michigan to Open Home Slate with No. 16 Yale

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team opens its 2026 home schedule Saturday (Feb. 28), welcoming No. 16 Yale to U-M Lacrosse Stadium at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.

Notes
• The Wolverines jumped six spots in the national IWLCA Poll to No. 6 after defeating then-No. 6 Boston College, 10-9, in double overtime in week three of the season. Michigan is 2-1 against ranked opponents this season and will face its fourth ranked opponent of the year in No. 16 Yale.
• Senior Ceci Stein reversed her defender and fired a shot into the far-right corner of the cage to lift Michigan to a 10-9 double-overtime win over then-No. 6 Boston College in the Atlanta Lacrosse Invitational. The game featured three ties and three lead changes, with Michigan earning its first win in program history over Boston College. U-M led through the first two quarters before BC rallied in the third. Junior Emma Bradbury paced the Michigan offense with four points, including a hat trick and one assist, while Caroline Byrd and Calli Norris each scored twice.
• The contest proved to be a defensive battle in the final 15 minutes of regulation as Elizabeth Johnson made three saves and Boston College's goalkeeper added two to force overtime. Johnson again came up big in the extra periods with three saves before Stein scored the game-winner with four seconds remaining in the second overtime. Michigan's defense recorded seven caused turnovers against the Eagles, with Grace Callahan leading the way with four, Jordyn Harrison adding two and Emma Arico contributing one.
• Freshman Elizabeth Johnson has earned two Big Ten awards just three weeks into the season. She was most recently named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after Michigan defeated then-No. 6 Boston College, recording her second career double-digit save effort with 12 stops. Johnson made three saves in overtime and added two ground balls. She was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her collegiate debut against No. 25 Notre Dame, where she stopped 15 shots, ranking fourth in Michigan single-game history. Johnson made eight first-half saves, four in each quarter, and added two ground balls.
• Junior Emma Bradbury was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and USA Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week in week three after pacing Michigan to two wins in the Sunshine State, including a victory over No. 5 Florida. Bradbury scored eight goals and added three assists for 11 points on the week. She recorded a career-best nine points against USF with six goals, put all seven of her shots on cage and added one caused turnover. She also scored twice on four shots in the win over Florida.
• Graduate student Ava Class and senior Grace Callahan were named to the 2026 Tewaaraton Watch List. Callahan earns a spot for the second straight season, while it is the first appearance for Class. Callahan ranks seventh all-time with 55 career caused turnovers and eighth all-time with 85 career ground balls. Class has 60 career points with 45 goals and 15 assists.
• Michigan remains in Ann Arbor for the first weekend in March, hosting Central Michigan on Friday (March 6) at 4 p.m. and Colorado on Sunday (March 8) at 1 p.m. Both games will be streamed on B1G+.
