ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's lacrosse head coach Kevin Conry announced Wednesday (Aug. 27) the hiring of Liam Entenmann as an assistant coach.
Entenmann, a member of two national title teams at Notre Dame, has spent the last year as the starting goalie for the New York Atlas of the Professional Lacrosse League. In 17 career games, he has posted 232 saves at a 57 percent clip with 45 ground balls and an assist.
"We are very excited to add Liam to our coaching staff this season," Conry said. "He is one of the most accomplished goalies in collegiate lacrosse and has proven to still be one of the best at the professional level. Our student-athletes will benefit tremendously from Liam's mentorship as someone who has competed and succeeded at all levels of the game."
He was named a 2025 PLL All-Star and Goalie of the Year Finalist after logging 15.2 saves per game, the highest average in the league, at a 57.1 percent clip, good for the fifth-best save percentage in the PLL. Entenmann also helped the Atlas to the best record in the Eastern Conference.
The 2024 PLL Rookie of the Year finalist earned 13 All-America citations over his four-year career at Notre Dame, including five first-team selections. He was awarded the USILA Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Outstanding Goalie (National Goalie of the Year) trophy twice, winning ACC Goalie and Defensive Player of the Year laurels in both 2023 and 2024.
After anchoring the Irish in 2023 and 2024 national championship wins, Entenmann became just the third goalie in history to be voted a Tewaaraton Award finalist. He now kickstarts his coaching career in Ann Arbor, where he will help mentor Hunter Taylor, who already holds the program record for career wins (21) entering his senior season.
"I'm very excited to be joining the staff and team at the University of Michigan," Entenmann said. "Developing the next generation of lacrosse players is something I am very passionate about, and I look forward to helping these young men on their journey, both as a team and as individuals."
