ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former University of Michigan attackman Ryan Cohen was claimed off waivers by the Maryland Whipsnakes of the Premier Lacrosse League, the club announced on Friday (May 16). Cohen joins teammate Pace Billings in the pros, who was drafted 19th overall by the Denver Outlaws in the PLL Draft two weeks ago.
Cohen leaves Ann Arbor as the program assist leader with 117 career helpers. The fifth player in program history to be named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, Cohen tallied a point in each of his 62 games played in maize and blue. His 227 points also rank second all-time in the U-M record books, 10 tallies behind class of 2024 graduate Michael Boehm, who currently suits up for the Philadelphia Waterdogs of the PLL.
Michigan men's lacrosse has placed six alumni in the PLL since the league's inception in 2019, including four over the last two seasons.
