He struck out five and walked two batters in a no-decision. Offensively, Mitch Voit led the way by going 2-for-2 with two doubles, a hit by pitch, and an intentional walk. Benny Casillas also tallied multiple hits in the contest, while Colby Turner homered for the third straight game.

After two scoreless innings, U-M took the lead in the bottom of the third. Turner led off the inning with a home run to left field, opening the scoring. Casillas doubled with one out in the inning and was brought home by Voit, who tallied his first double of the contest. Vigue shut down the Trojans in the fourth and fifth with back-to-back three-up, three-down innings.
The Trojans tried to tie the game in the sixth after a single opened the inning, but two outs were recorded on a 5-4-3 double play. The next two batters reached for USC, but Vigue's fifth strikeout of the contest ended the frame. Voit tried to add some insurance runs with a one-out double in the bottom of the sixth, but a flyout and strikeout ended the inning.
Cade Connolly took over on the mound in the sixth and worked out of a jam with a 3-6 double play and a strikeout after two runners reached scoring position with no outs. The Trojans took the lead in the top of the eighth, sending nine batters to the plate and scoring four runs on four hits and one error.
U-M tried to answer in the bottom of the eighth. After one out, the next three batters reached base—a single from Casillas and two walks. Jeter Ybarra drew a walk, which scored Casillas. The Wolverines could not add more, as a double play ended the inning.
Ricky Kidd pitched a scoreless ninth inning to give U-M a chance. In the bottom of the frame, Turner drew a two-out walk, but a called strike ended the game.
