
Wolverines Set to Battle Bruins for Big Ten Tournament Title

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The No. 16-ranked and third-seeded University of Michigan men's soccer team (12-2-4, 6-2-2 Big Ten) will look to win its second Big Ten Tournament title in a matchup with No. 4-seeded UCLA (7-6-4, 5-3-2 Big Ten) on Sunday (Nov. 16) at 3 p.m. at Ludwig Field. The match will air on Big Ten Network.

• Michigan advanced to its second consecutive Big Ten Tournament final with a 2-0 win over No. 23-ranked Washington on Wednesday (Nov. 12).
• The win over the Huskies marked the 12th of the season and the ninth shutout of the campaign.
• Mitar Mitrovic propelled the Michigan attack on Wednesday with a three-point outing, assisting on the first goal and scoring the second from the penalty spot.
• Nicholas Cassiday notched his second goal of the season with a first-half tally against the Huskies.
• Isaiah Goldson posted his ninth clean sheet of the season and lowered his goals-against average to 0.72, the lowest in the Big Ten.
• Four Wolverines -- Will Baker, Matthew Fisher, Nolan Miller and Shuma Sasaki -- were named to the All-Big Ten second team on Thursday (Nov. 13). The trio of Baker, Fisher and Miller were key in the Wolverines' defense that allowed only 13 goals in the regular season and posted eight shutouts. Sasaki tallied eight points and drew multiple penalty kicks in his first season with the Maize and Blue.
• Michigan enters Sunday's match on a seven-match undefeated streak with six wins during the run. U-M has scored 16 goals during that span with just three goals conceded. Â
• Sunday will mark the second meeting between the Wolverines and the Bruins in 2025, with Michigan defeating UCLA, 3-0, on Oct. 17 in Ann Arbor. The two teams will also meet for the second straight year in the Big Ten Tournament. In 2024, Michigan and UCLA drew, 1-1, and the Maize and Blue advanced on penalties in the semifinal round in Bridgeview, Ill. Â
• Michigan is seeking its second Big Ten Tournament title in program history. The Wolverines won their first in 2010, defeating Penn State in University Park, Pa., in the final to capture the tournament crown.
