Notes
• Michigan concludes a three-game homestand this week, hosting Rutgers in a Maize Out and No. 11 Ohio State in a Blue Out. After this week, Michigan has just two games remaining at U-M Soccer Stadium.
• Both of Michigan's wins this season have come at home, the most recent against Nebraska (Sept. 22) and a 1-0 win over then-No. 24 Alabama (Sept. 8).
• U-M is 3-5-1 all-time against Rutgers, with all nine contests coming after Rutgers joined the Big Ten. Michigan has won two of the last three against the Scarlet Knights, including a 3-2 win the last time RU came to Ann Arbor in 2022.
• The Wolverines hold a 15-14-6 advantage all-time against rival Ohio State. Michigan is looking for its first win over the Buckeyes since a 2-1 victory on Sept. 22, 2019.
• Michigan is coming off its first Big Ten victory of the season, knocking off Nebraska 3-2 at home last Sunday (Sept. 22). The teams traded four total goals over the first 17 minutes of the contest. U-M scored the game winner in the 63rd minute and kept the Huskers off the board the rest of the way to record the win.
• Taylor Brennan scored the game-winning goal for Michigan against Nebraska, marking the first goal of her career. Brennan's goal came off an assist from Lilley Bosley, who recorded the first point of her career with the helper.
• U-M scored a season-high three goals against Nebraska, getting goals from Brennan, Abby Zugay and Jenna Lang. Lang is the team leader in goals this season with four.
• The Wolverines have faced four teams in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll in No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 15 Penn State, No. 16 Colorado and No. 21 Xavier.
• Avery Kalitta has started 52 consecutive games in the midfield for U-M. She started the final six games of her freshman season (2021) to kick off the streak, starting in every contest in 2022 and 2023. She is one of three Wolverines, joining Stephanie Sparkowski and Lang, to start all 10 games this season.
• Following this homestand, Michigan has just six regular-season games remaining. Up next for the Maize and Blue is a trip to East Lansing to face Michigan State next weekend (Oct. 5).
