Team Captains: Lora Clarke, Rosie Hope, Erin Reilly
Record: 9-8 overall, 3-5 Big Ten (7th Place)
Big Ten Tournament: Quarterfinals

Team Highlights
• Michigan earned three ranked wins in 2023 -- all at Phyllis Ocker Field -- against No. 18 Old Dominion (1-0 OT, Sept. 3), No. 10 St. Joseph's (2-0, Sept. 10) and No. 15 Penn State (2-1, Oct. 15). The Wolverines posted a 6-3 record at Ocker Field this season.
• The Wolverines closed out the regular season with a dramatic 1-0 win in double overtime against rival Michigan State on Oct. 27 Senior Night at Ocker Field. Senior Lora Clarke scored the golden goal at the 78:35 mark with a reverse chip from the left side of the circle. Junior/sophomore goalkeeper Caylie McMahon earned two saves, while the Michigan defense turned away three MSU corners late in the third quarter.
• U-M posted six shutouts on the season, with McMahon earning four complete-game efforts and combining with senior Gillian Dumont for two more. The Wolverines combined for a 1.10 goals-against average and held opponents to just 8.8 shots and 4.2 penalty corners per game.
• Michigan's 11-0 win at Central Michigan (Oct. 22) was the program's largest goal output since scoring 12 against Ball State on Sept. 10, 2021. In all, U-M outshot the Chippewas 50-0 and outcornered them 23-0. It was the first time U-M held an opponent without a shot since the 2021 Ball State game. Nine different players scored goals at CMU, most notably senior Kate McLaughlin, who tallied three goals for her first collegiate multi-goal game and hat trick.
• Thirteen different Wolverines scored at least one goal in 2023. McLaughlin and freshman Kelsey Reviello led Michigan with six goals apiece, while Reviello was one of six players, along with fellow freshmen Esmée de Willigen, Natalie Millman and Juliette Manzur and senior Lindsey Stagg, who tallied the first markers of their careers.

Individual Highlights
• Clarke was named to the NFHCA All-America third team -- her first career All-America nod -- after posting three goals and a team- and career-high nine assists as U-M's primary corner inserter. Michigan has had an All-American on its roster in 26 of the last 27 years and boasted 33 different All-Americans -- combining for 51 total honors -- in its 51-year program history.
• Burnett started all 17 games in the Wolverine midfield in her rookie campaign, finishing with 822 total minutes of playing time -- nearly 50 minutes per game. She was named to the All-Big Ten second team, becoming the first Wolverine freshman to earn All-Big Ten honors since Lauren Thomas in 2012, and posted her first collegiate goal at CMU.
• Veen and fellow senior Rosie Hope also earned selection to the All-Big Ten second team. It was the second honor for Veen, while Hope, like Clarke and Burnett, earned the distinction for the first time in her career. Hope and Veen were fixtures in the Wolverine backfield, helping to spearhead a unit that averaged just 1.02 goals against and 7.5 shots against over that stretch.
• McMahon started all 17 games in the Wolverine cage this season -- after redshirting her freshman campaign while overcoming spinal surgery and splitting time with Anna Spieker in 2022. McMahon registered 1.14 goals-against average and .768 save percentage with four complete-game shutouts. She earned a career-high nine saves at Northwestern (Oct. 1) and earned a penalty-stroke save en route to a shutout win at Indiana (Sept. 29).
• Junior Abby Tamer used an Olympic redshirt to spend 2023 season training and competing with the USA Field Hockey Women's National Team in its bid to qualify for the 2024 Olympics. Tamer contributed to the U.S. senior team's silver-medal finish at the Pan American Games (Oct. 25-Nov. 4) before earning a 10th-place finish with the U.S. under-21 team at the Junior World Cup (Nov. 29-Dec. 10).
