
U-M Readies for B1G Tournament Semifinal at Top-Seeded Indiana

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 5-seeded University of Michigan men's soccer team (5-5-7) will head to top-seeded Indiana University (10-4-4) for a Wednesday night (Nov. 8) Big Ten Tournament semifinal contest at 8 p.m. at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
Notes
• Michigan is 18-19-2 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament and will play in the semifinal match for the 14th time in program history. U-M will meet up with Indiana for the sixth time in program history and is looking for its first win against the Hoosiers in the tournament as it is 0-4-1 all-time.
• The Wolverines and IU played to a 0-0 tie in the regular season meeting at Bill Armstrong Stadium and have played to a draw in the last two meetings between the two squads.
• Michigan earned its spot in the Big Ten Tournament semifinal after blanking Northwestern, 1-0, in Evanston. U-M's goal came in the second half from freshman Alex Waggoner, while Isaiah Goldson made a huge save for the Maize and Blue in the closing minutes to keep the victory intact.
• Goldson has five shutouts on the season after earning back-to-back clean sheets against the Wildcats. The freshman keeper was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman team and has started 12 matches with a .746 save percentage.
• Waggoner has scored one goal in each of U-M's last three games and has a team-best six goals on the season. The freshman forward has appeared in all 17 matches and started 12, while scoring three game-winners in his first season as a Wolverine.
